Legal tint in Alabama
How dark is legal tint in Alabama?
Alabama measures tint by how much light gets through the glass and film together. On a car, every side window and the back window must let through at least 32% of light, with a 3% allowance for the meter.
SUVs, vans and pickups follow the same 32% rule on the two front side windows. Behind the driver, any shade is legal.
On every vehicle, the windshield can only take a non-reflective strip along the top 6 inches, and no film can reflect more than 20% of light.
